Getting Started with ABALink: Your First Steps After Registration
Welcome to ABALink! You’ve just created your account — now what? This guide walks you through the essential first steps to set up your profile, get verified, and start making the most of the platform.
1. Complete Your Profile
After registering, the first thing you should do is complete your professional profile. A well-filled profile helps supervisors and supervisees find you and builds trust within the community.
Make sure to include:
- Your full name and credentials (e.g., BCBA, BCaBA, RBT)
- A professional profile picture — profiles with photos receive significantly more connection requests
- Your certification details — this helps the platform match you with the right professionals
- Your areas of specialization — such as Verbal Behavior, Early Intervention, or School-Based ABA
Tip: Treat your ABALink profile like a professional resume. Clear credentials and a friendly, professional photo go a long way.
2. Verification Process
If you're registering as a supervisor (BCBA/BCBA-D), your account will go through a verification process. Our admin team reviews your credentials within 24–48 business hours.
During this time:
- You’ll see a “Verification Pending” notice when you log in
- You can still explore the platform and read articles
- Once verified, you’ll receive an email confirmation and gain full access to all features
If you're a supervisee (RBT or BCaBA candidate), you can start using the platform immediately after registration.
You don’t need to wait to get familiar with ABALink—use the pending period to explore resources and plan your supervision goals.
3. Explore the Feed
The Feed is your home base on ABALink. Here you’ll find:
- Professional articles and resources about ABA practice
- Updates from the ABALink team
- Quick links to important resources like BACB guidelines
Take a few minutes to browse the articles — they cover everything from supervision best practices to ethical guidelines.
4. What’s Next?
Once your profile is complete and (if applicable) verified, you’re ready to:
- Search for connections — find supervisors or supervisees that match your needs
- Start tracking hours — set up your supervision and fieldwork tracking
- Explore the supervision tools — manage tasks, metrics, and documentation
Your ABALink journey starts with a complete profile. Take 5 minutes now to fill in all your details — it makes everything else easier.
